TERMINAL SLOW/COMM ERROR
If the terminal is running slow, having trouble connecting, or is not always responding immediately to button presses. Please try the following:
1. Check all network, phone, and power cables and make sure that they are securely connected to the terminal and the wall outlets with a cable that is in good condition.
2. Restart the machine by holding down the On / Off button until it turns off, and again until it turns back on.
3. If this does not work, restart their router and/or modem and any other devices between the terminal and their internet connection.
First thing you will want to check, is if the device has an open batch. If so, batch it out.
Then, you can always try a power cycle to see picks up the download. If not, proceed to the steps below:

Select APP UPDATE

If there is a download available for the terminal and there are no transactions in the terminal then you can simply do a power cycle. Turn the terminal off followed by turning it back on or disconnecting the power and reconnecting it will work as well. The terminal will look for updates and then automatically download any that are available onto the terminal. If the terminal doesn’t automatically do the update you can go into the APP UPDATE section and manually update the terminal. Press the MENU key, then select SYSTEM SETTINGS and then select APP MANAGEMENT. The terminal will prompt you to enter in the password which will then allow you to select APP UPDATE. Make sure it says 2
Click 2 for On
Enter Start Autodial/Auto-batch time
Press Enter
Enter Stop Autodial/Auto-batch time
Enter 15 for AD Intervals
If successful, it will bring you back to Host Settings.
The “QD” error indicates that the batch number is a repeat of the same batch number recently closed at the host. It may be because another terminal is programmed with the same MID, TID, Terminal Number, etc. as the terminal you are trying to batch (this usually occurs in merchant locations with more than one terminal). If you advance the batch number in your terminal, that should allow you to settle.
You should then find out if there is another terminal programmed with the same host settings as yours and have it reprogrammed with the correct settings
